1. Purpose
McRail/RMC are committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its operations and supply chains. This policy outlines our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and the steps we take to identify, prevent, and address any risks associated with these practices.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners involved with McRail/RMC, including all construction sites, offices, and procurement activities.
3. Definition of Modern Slavery
Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, and any other form of exploitation where a person is coerced, threatened, or deceived into working against their will.
4. Our Commitment
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations regarding modern slavery, including the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- Implement rigorous due diligence processes to assess and address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
- Encourage reporting of any concerns related to modern slavery through confidential and accessible channels without fear of retaliation.
- Take prompt and appropriate action if modern slavery is suspected or identified.
5. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment
- Conduct risk assessments focusing on high-risk activities such as subcontracting, labour hire, and procurement of materials.
- Require suppliers and subcontractors to comply with our standards on modern slavery and human rights.
- Include clauses related to anti-slavery practices in contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
6. Reporting and Whistleblowing
Employees and third parties are encouraged to report concerns or suspicions of modern slavery. Reports can be made via:

All reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly and confidentially.
7. Roles and Responsibilities
- The senior management are responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy.
- Managers must ensure staff and subcontractors understand and comply with this policy.
- All employees must remain vigilant and report any concerns regarding modern slavery.
8. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessary to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
