McRail RMC Constructions was appointed by Galliford Try to deliver groundworks and reinforced concrete elements at Chertsey Sewage Treatment Works in Egham. As part of its scope, McRail RMC Constructions carried out construction activities associated with the delivery of a storm tank facility designed to manage excess flows during storm events.The works included the construction of a 30-metre diameter in-situ reinforced concrete sloping base, requiring the placement of significant concrete volumes to provide a stable structural foundation. Following this, McRail RMC Constructions undertook activities associated with the installation of a 27.3-metre diameter, 7-metre high prestressed post- tensioned concrete tank structure designed to accommodate high stormwater capacity.The scope also incorporated coordination and execution of works related to the integration of large-diameter pipe connections cast on site to ensure accurate fitment and operational performance.
