The station upgrade work is part of a wider enhancement programme on the East London Line.

The completed works will provide a new ticket hall, gate-line, passenger overbridge with stairs leading down to the platforms, a lift to each platform and platform lengthening to accommodate connection with the new station entrance.

Morgan Sindall appointed McRail RMC Constructions to complete a wide-ranging Groundworks & Reinforced Concrete package including:

• Installation of pile mat, piling attendance and crane base and the demolition and removal upon completion of the works.

• External and Internal services

• Installation of retaining walls and fill for site compound and removal once permanent works were completed.

• In-Situ Concrete Foundations, Floor Slabs, Column Encasements

• Secant Pile & Capping Beam Waterproofing

• Kerbs, edgings, tactiles and paving

• Fencing
